Ashley WuCoordinator
Hi, I'm Ashley, and I've grown up in this Church since I was in 3rd grade. However, for most of my life, I was a nominal believer. During high school, I struggled with depression, self love, and a broken relationship with my parents. Although I knew the Jesus story, I never understood why Jesus died, or his love -- instead I knew more about morality. It wasn't until a retreat called NYSC in the summer of my Junior to Senior year that God spoke into my life and I accepted Him into my life. Since then, my life has turned 180, and God healed me spiritually, mentally, and relationally.
In my senior year of college, God called me to serve the youth at BCTC out of a compassion for them to come to know God as I know Him. At Blastoff, I serve as the general coordinator which consists of following-up with other leaders, making sure events and meetings are organized, and keeping vision for Blastoff. As I serve, I'm reminded daily of how weak I am and how everything I do is from God, through God, and for God--to Him is all the glory. As I serve with my fellow brothers and sisters, God challenges me to walk in faith, and act in boldness. One of my favorite bible verses that I constantly remind myself of is: "For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands, for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control."
